Old is the (New) New

Graphic design has become a major part of our lives. Everywhere we go, we are always seeing graphics in the form advertising, packaging, and other stuff. Some are a feast to the eyes and some should have never been made. While contemporary designs are nice and all, it becomes too much and too monotonous sometimes. To break away from the normal contemporary graphic design, many artists and designers are now looking back to the good old days for inspiration. Smashing magazine has a nice feature on Vintage and Retro design from 1920-1980’s and also some current designs from designers and artists who make use of vintage and retro style in their work. Be sure to check it out.
