Sneakers Vending Machine

leave a comment »

From normal drinks and cigarettes to slightly weird eggs and lobster, the Japanese are obsessed with vending machines. Another thing they are obsessed with is sneakers, so it would only seem logical to mix the both of it and come up with a sneaker vending machine. The first ever sneakers vending machine by Japanese sports fashion brand, Onitsuka Tiger, will be placed in the UK. Its surprising thats its not in Japan. But as long as its made by a Japanese company, the Japanese can still brag about it. The machine can vend 24 pairs of sneakers at one time and all of the sneakers will be given away for free. It will stock only Mexico 66 in Red/ White/ Blue for the April launch. The Vending machine will go on a national tour throughout 2008 starting in Manchester after being stationed in London from the 14th to the 16th of April.

It seems that sneakers are being incorporated left and right in product design these days. After witnessing the Shoe Chandelier designed by Peter Pracilio and Oscar Lopez, we are now being exposed to this amazing piece of bike design. The Walking Bike built by Max Knight for Yargo Tloupas of Intersection magazine is equipped with custom tyres adorned with 8 different pairs of sneakers.
